I decided to give that 10-minute painting challenge exercise from Carol Marine’s book a go. 10 minutes for each of the four apples. I think the bottom left one turned out to be best of the four.
I am only beginning to sort all the impressions I had from the Italy trip. This painting is based on a photo I took in the garden of our hotel that was hosting a wedding the night before. And just like that, there was this magnificent bowl of lemons seemingly forgotten on an empty garden table. Oil on canvas, 30cm x 40 cm.
This is based on a “selfie” of my white-sneakered feet and my favourite red midi dress. The dress is actually pleated, but there is no way I could paint all those pleats. Oil on canvas board, 24 cm x 30 cm.
